The Florida Board of Governors has confirmed Moez Limayem as the University of South Florida's ninth president. This unanimous decision marks a significant milestone in the university's history. According to usf. edu, Limayem was named sole finalist for the position by the USF Presidential Search Committee in September. Limayem brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as president of the University of North Florida since 2022. Prior to this, he was the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for 10 years.
During his tenure at UNF, Limayem oversaw significant achievements, including the largest incoming class of students in the university's history and a record-high first-year student retention rate. Under Limayem's leadership, UNF also saw positive outcomes in job placements, leading the state in the percentage of bachelor's graduates employed in Florida. His contributions to innovation and invention have been recognized by the National Academy of Inventors, and he has received numerous awards for his leadership, including being named one of Florida's 500 most influential business leaders by Florida Trend.
